S&P/TSX market outlook
Banks, oil & the Canadian dollar. Observed cues, their possible channels and the limits of each comparison.
Watch which side of the previous close the local benchmark can sustain, and whether overseas markets start to agree.
How this reading works
This is a conditional directional reading, not a calibrated probability or price target. At least two overseas benchmarks must agree, and an open local market must confirm, for a positive or negative setup. Conflicting signals produce a two-way reading. Oil for India and US yields for the US/crypto can temper that reading. Sector news, currency moves and policy surprises can overturn it.
Open-market observations older than 15 minutes are excluded. Closed markets use the latest completed session. These periods are not simultaneous. No contribution weights or forecast accuracy are implied.

Data sources & methodology
Prices refresh from shared market feeds. Some providers delay quotes. Changes use each provider’s previous close; crypto uses its stated 24-hour reference. Mini charts show 20 daily sessions. A last-updated cue appears after 15 minutes during the scheduled open session. Schedules do not detect unexpected trading halts.
Commodities are rolling futures, not spot. Contract rolls can affect comparisons. The daily economic references have separate publication dates.
