This notice explains how Montara Money handles information across its website, money tools, learning features, and private account service, and the choices available to you.
Who is responsible
Montara Money is independently managed by an individual in India. Contact contact@montaramoney.com about personal information, cookies, or this notice. Montara Money is a publication name, not a separate incorporated company.
This notice covers Montara pages and the separate Montara account interface. External websites, including linked data sources, apply their own notices when you visit them.
Services covered by this notice
This notice covers market pages, educational articles, calculators, learning progress, account authentication, investment insights, wealth and debt planning, and insurance reminders. The information collected depends on the features you choose to use.
Google AdSense supports advertising on public pages. Google Analytics measures approved public-page interactions after the required consent. Google Privacy & messaging provides cookie and advertising choices. Private account screens and personal insights do not contain advertising or Google Analytics.
When you choose an optional feature such as a newsletter or CSV import, its collection notice explains the information involved. We do not use session-replay software or collect your broker or bank password. A new use of information requires an updated notice and, where necessary, a new consent choice.
Information we receive
A website connection exposes technical information to the server handling it, such as an IP address, requested path, time, browser headers, and error details. Hosting and security systems use operational logs to deliver the service and investigate faults or abuse. Do not put confidential information in a page address or query string.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please include only what is necessary to explain your request. We do not need bank passwords, full card numbers, government identity documents, or complete financial statements for ordinary support.
When you create an account, we use your name, email address, verification status, authentication credentials or password hash, and session records. Security information can include a session's IP address and user agent. Sessions expire or renew independently of the underlying account; signing out does not delete your financial records.
When you add information to your money space, we process the assets, investment holdings, liabilities, transactions, goals, currencies, and insurance details you choose to provide. Policy reminders can include a provider, coverage description, premium, and renewal date. These records are associated with your account so your own dashboards and insights can use them. Do not enter another person's private information without permission.
CSV imports process the supported financial fields in the file you choose. Check the import preview and remove unrelated personal information before uploading. Newsletter subscriptions use your email address and subscription preferences; you can unsubscribe through the message or contact us.
What stays in your browser
Public calculator inputs are processed in page memory by our code. We do not put amounts, rates, balances, or calculator results into URLs, analytics events, or application requests. Reloading clears unsaved calculator values. The fictional account demo also resets when reloaded.
When you mark a lesson complete without signing in, the browser stores lesson identifiers to remember your progress. This records learning progress, not financial information, and persists until cleared. Account-based progress associates completed lessons with your account when you choose to save it there.
Authentication uses essential cookies for the separate account service. Clearing those cookies signs you out. The public site loads the private insight frame only after you request it; account balances and investment details are not passed into public-page analytics or parent-page messages.
Public calculator pages may show one advertisement below the results. An advertising script on the same page can technically access page contents. Keeping inputs out of our events does not isolate them from every third-party script. Private saved calculations and account screens remain free of advertising.
Why information is used
Information is used to deliver requested pages and account functions, keep sessions secure, investigate faults or abuse, respond to messages, and fulfill applicable legal obligations. We do not sell access to your private account records or use them to target ads or train a prediction model.
Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional measurement or advertising storage that requires it; providing the service you request for necessary account functions; legitimate interests for proportionate security, maintenance, and correspondence where applicable; and legal obligations where a law requires processing. You can ask us which basis applies to a particular use.
There is no automated decision here that grants credit, changes insurance eligibility, or makes a trade for you. Calculators and market observations are information you can inspect, not decisions about your eligibility for a financial product.
Google services and your choices
Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, and, where permitted and consented to, personalization based on visits to this and other websites. Consult the privacy-choice message for the participating vendors and available controls.
Use the Privacy choices control to review or change applicable cookie and advertising choices, including rejecting optional processing. Google My Ad Center provides additional personalization settings, and industry opt-out choices are available through AboutAds.
Google Analytics measures approved public routes and limited events such as a lesson identifier or performance metric, subject to consent. Private routes and individual calculator pages are excluded. We do not send financial inputs, email addresses, account identifiers, or arbitrary query strings to Google Analytics. Google receives the technical information involved in its network connections.
Recipients and locations
The operator can access information needed to run the service and answer messages. Providers handling hosting, email, databases, or an activated Google service receive information necessary for their role. A request may also need to be disclosed when legally required or to investigate a genuine security incident.
Our service infrastructure includes Cloudflare for public-site delivery and security, Oracle Cloud for application and market-data processing, and MongoDB Atlas for account and application storage. Better Auth runs within our account application rather than acting as a separate hosted account provider. Google handles the advertising, consent, and analytics functions described above.
Market-data collectors fetch shared observations independently of visitors. They do not send your portfolio or browser identity to a market-data provider. Clicking a source link takes you to that provider's website, which receives the resulting connection.
The operator is in India. Service providers may process information in other countries, including locations where they operate infrastructure or support. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, we use the required contractual or other lawful transfer arrangement. Contact us for information about recipients and safeguards relevant to your records.
Retention and deletion
Unsaved calculator and demo edits last only while the page remains open. Browser learning progress remains until cleared. Saved account records are retained while your account needs them, unless you delete an item or request account deletion.
Export and deletion controls let you obtain or remove account information. Some records may need to be retained for a legal obligation, unresolved dispute, fraud investigation, or security purpose. Backup copies follow their rotation schedule and are not used to restore a deleted account into ordinary service.
Support correspondence is retained for handling the request and related follow-up; security logs are retained for detecting and investigating incidents. The applicable retention period depends on the purpose, legal requirements, and whether a dispute or investigation remains open. Contact us for the retention details relevant to a request.
Requests and controls
Email contact@montaramoney.com with the subject “Privacy request” and describe the information or action involved. Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of information, object to or restrict a use, withdraw consent, or complain to your relevant data-protection authority.
We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns you. Please do not send identity documents unless a necessary and suitable verification method has been agreed. Applicable legal deadlines and exceptions depend on the request and jurisdiction.
You can clear browser learning progress below or through your browser's site-storage controls. Use Privacy choices to change applicable cookie and advertising preferences. Blocking essential account cookies can prevent sign-in. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Children and changes to this notice
The account service is not intended for children. Do not submit a child's financial or identity information. If you believe such information has been supplied, contact the operator so it can be investigated and removed where appropriate.
The date on this page records its latest substantive update. We update this notice when information uses or services change and provide additional notice or consent choices where required.
